If there is enough interest on the waitlist, we'll expand the team roster!The Pom Poms Cheerleading Team is a youth cheerleading team for females ages 7-9 with and without experience that aims to build upon and advance fundamental skills and interest in the principles of sideline cheerleading.
This includes learning different sideline cheers and performing dances/routines at halftime during the Summer Youth Basketball League games. (Specific goals of the team are listed at the bottom of this registration page).
The primary mission of this program is to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, communication, confidence, leadership, etc., to elementary school aged participants, as well as getting those participating prepared for future cheerleading opportunities as they get older. All practices will take place at the Culpeper County Fieldhouse.
Registration Includes:
- Full uniform: shell, skirt and bow
- Team Pictures
Team Practices & Game Schedule:
- Practices: Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 1st, 2026.
- Times: 5:30pm-6:30pm or 6:30pm-7:30pm (depending on registration numbers).
- Some practices may take place outside, and extra practices may be scheduled on certain Fridays prior to games.
- Games: Saturday mornings/afternoons starting July 18th, 2026.
Important Dates:
- Parent/athlete meeting and uniform fitting: May 1st, 2026.
- Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm.
- Pre-season practices: May 13th, 15th, 20th, and 22nd, 2026.
- Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm or 6:30pm-7:30pm (depending on registration numbers).
- Team pictures: TBD
Specific goals of the team:
- Build upon and further expand the foundation and skill set of sideline cheerleading.
- Learn to properly display acts of sportsmanship, teamwork, communication, confidence and leadership.
- Learn at least 8 different cheers and 2 dance routines by the end of the season.
- Learn various other skills (stunting, jumping and tumbling).
- Gain the confidence to pursue cheerleading or other sports in the future.
Please wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes. Bring a water bottle.
