Program Outline
Each day will follow the same structure of activities: Open, Learn, Play, Reflect, Create and Close.
Day 1: Connecting as a TeamWe’ll spend the first day learning about each other and Camp GOTR by establishing basic expectations to foster a positive, inclusive environment and allow us to build connections with our teammates.
Day 2: Making FriendsWe’ll learn about the HEART acronym for making friends and communicating and then apply those skills with our teammates to learn more about each other.
Day 3: Characteristics of a Good FriendWe’ll spend today identifying the characteristics of a good friend and recognize those qualities we look for in a friend as well as the qualities we bring to a friendship.
Day 4: Communicating with FriendsWe will use teamwork to complete tasks and learn to recognize common conflicts we have with friends. We’ll improve our communication by learning about “I feel…when you…” statements.
