Using a multisensory approach, students will be introduced to cursive handwriting, the soon to be lost language to our youngest generation. In four sessions, proper posture and pencil grip will be taught and lowercase letters will be introduced in groups based on similar strokes.
Time permitting, uppercase formation will also be introduced. Students will have opportunities to use various techniques to practice (sensory trays, whiteboards, flashcards, games, etc.) making it fun and effective for all types of learners.
Course Outline: 9/12 Group 1: Easy curves– c, a, d, g, o, q 9/19 Group 2: Loops and upstrokes– i, u, w, t, e, l, b, h, k 9/26 Group 3: Connecting curves– n, m, v, x, y, z 10/3 Group 4: Unique forms– j, f, r, s, p
