This lovely basket features a solid wooden base and handle. Experienced weavers will learn the technique of "French Randing" in this basket. Students are encouraged to bring their own dyed reed to class, if they choose. The basket will be beautiful either way. This class is not appropriate for beginners. Experienced weavers only.We will work through lunch so everyone will leave with a completed basket. Be sure to bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Materials to weave the basket will be provided but you must bring some tools with you to class.
SUPPLY LISTPlease note: it is not necessary for participants to purchase a lot of materials before class. Most of these items are found at home.• 2.5 (10 qt.) bucket or 5-gallon bucket• Small spray bottle• 2 old towels, bath size or smaller• Utility scissors or gardening shears• Tape measure/ruler• Pencil• 3-5 bags of dried beans or corn hole bags, small weights or a “spoke weight” • Clothespins• A blunt awl or stubby type (short) flat head screwdriver• 4” zip ties or 10-12 heavy duty clamps • I will have Weave Rite heavy duty awls and clamps available for purchase if participants would like to try them first.
