Join Lit Learning Lab in Part 1 of this 2-part series, for fun, games, stories, and learning to help make sure that your child is in fact "ready" to start school. According to a 2022 report to the General Assembly, 42% of Virginia's kindergarteners were unprepared for school in one or more of the areas of math, literacy, social skills, and self-regulation. This class will address each of these areas and help to fill in any gaps, solidify understanding of important concepts, and extend your child's learning. You can also enroll your rising 1st grader to help keep them from experiencing summer learning loss, as research shows that children can lose up to 30% of their academic learning progress over summer break. In addition, practice packets/materials will be sent home with students each week.
