About This Activity
The CCE Paddling Club is offering Learn to Kayak Summer camps (Lesson Levels 1 to 4) at Cultus Lake from the beginning of July to the end of August. Kids will play games, learn kayaking skills and water safety and have a blast! The target age for our lessons is 8-17. Participants must be comfortable putting their head underwater and swimming in deep water while wearing a PFD. Group sizes are limited to 10 participants, and taught by two NCCP certified instructors. Our meeting spot is at our boathouse in Parking Lot B, Main Beach, Cultus Lake, 76 Sunnyside Blvd, Cultus Lake. All equipment is provided. What will they learn? Level 4: These classes are for the learner who is ready to advance to gently moving water. Learn how to identify currents, eddies, and eddy lines and how to turn in and out of eddies, cross and spin in a current, wet exit in the river, and defensively swim. Prerequisite: Level 3 & instructor permission
