Middle School Ultimate Frisbee Spring League
Coaches: Troy Goddu & Maureen Lucey
The Middle School Ultimate Program is one of the oldest and largest in the state. We continue to field teams with over 60 participants every year!
The middle school league is made up of boys AND girls in grades 5th - 8th on co-ed teams.
This program is designed to introduce players to the sport of Ultimate as well as improve disc skills and teach the kids to work together as a group. Sportsmanship is paramount in Ultimate as there are no referees. Players learn the rules and make their own calls, using the “Spirit of the Game” to guide their actions on the field. Playing hard is encouraged, but NEVER at the expense of respect for the game and others.
The Greely Middle School Ultimate League (GMSUL) – runs on a concept similar to Little League in baseball, where teams are set up by splitting all players into 4-6 evenly skilled teams. We are excited to include some games against other towns, as well as our very own tournament, the “GU Invitational”!
We will provide “Learn to play” early spring opportunities inside for skill development, then move to Twin Brook Recreation Area for league games each week starting after April break through early June.
GU League games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 - 7:30 at Twin Brook.
Fee: $105.00 Per Participant (Includes uniform top and a disc for each player)
Note: The Ultimate Frisbee programs are not affiliated with the Town of Cumberland Recreation Dept. (we are only collecting Registrations for the program).
