COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Elementary Morning Program, for students entering the 3rd or 4th grade, is a three-hour multi-age session. The Montessori philosophy and methods are applied to students in a multi-age classroom using an individualized approach to match each child’s learning profile. Classes incorporated into the morning sessions are: Reading, Math and English. • Reading: develops reading skills through the use of auditory discrimination and application of phonetic word attack skills. In addition, students work on enriching comprehension skills. • Math: uses a multisensory approach to math with the use of manipulatives. • English: emphasizes listening and organizational skills as well as English concepts and written expression.
