Description
The Volunteen Leadership Program gives teens who will be attending High School in Fall 2025 the opportunity to perform community service at one of the Summer Youth Recreation Program (SYRP) sites. Volunteens will engage participants enrolled in the SYRP by assisting staff in facilitating and supervising activities, enrichment, and more. This may include but is not limited to demonstrating and/or leading sports, fitness, arts and crafts, cooking and more.Other opportunities such as workshops, field trips, community service in other programs, etc. may occur, but are subject to availability.
We will also be hosting special Teen Hangouts at each of the Summer Youth Recreation Program locations. This may include, but is not limited to game nights, workshops, movie nights and more. This is available to all Volunteens registered in the 2025 Volunteen Leadership Program.
Volunteens will complete community service hours by working with youth participants in the Summer Youth Recreation Program from Monday, June 16 - Friday, August 1.
During the week of Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 13, Volunteens will partake in an orientation and various training sessions to prepare themselves for the program. A schedule will be emailed closer to the beginning of the program.
Volunteens will be assigned at one of the Summer Youth Recreation Program locations and will be scheduled based on their availability. On Friday, June 13, there will be a Welcome Summer Hangout from 5:00pm - 7:00pm for Volunteens to attend, hangout and bond with one another before the start of the program.
Cost: $100 resident/ $125 non resident
