About This Activity
For this 8 week class, beginner ceramics students will learn basic clay handbuilding techniques. The goals of this class will vary by person, age, and experience level. More experienced artists might choose to make a large piece that they continuously work on for the entire available time frame, while others can follow a demonstration and make a small project each week. By the end of the class, every child should have basic skills such as how to join clay and make and use pinch pots. Though we will have new skills demos each week, the priority is to have fun, experiment, and make sure nothing explodes in the kiln! Students can also treat this time as an open studio with a helpful person nearby. Parents are more than welcome, though I ask that we keep our hands on our own clay. (NO WHEEL) Class price includes a $25 of materials fee.
