Each week we will taste ingredients, learn some of the science behind cooking (and do some experiments) and cook up a recipe together. In the fall we will explore seasonal fruits like apple and persimmon, vegetables like squash, roots and leafy greens and of course make some cozy soups and bake together. Techniques covered will include knife skills, kitchen and food safety and cleanliness, measurement, and how to read a recipe. Recipes will be vegetarian, though meat might be an option occasionally. This class is best suited for students early in their cooking journey. If your child has a food allergy, please ensure our Cooking Instructor and Program Coordinator has an updated information about all restrictions and possible medications.
