The age calculation date for 2026 summer baseball and softball (ages 9+) is July 12, 2026. Please register your child for baseball or softball based on their age as of July 12, 2026. Contact your Recreation Center with any questions.This recreational team/league emphasizes teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship and camaraderie in a fun environment. Players will be introduced to fundamental baseball skills including throwing, catching, fielding, batting and baserunning. Teams practice twice per week for 2 weeks, then have 1 practice and 1 game per week through the end of the season. Practice days and times are determined by Recreation Centers. Games will be played on Mondays, typically between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, at varying times and locations. Make-up games may be played on Fridays or Saturdays. Game schedules will be available at www.denveryouthsports.org.
Uniform/Equipment Requirements: A game jersey and hat/visor will be provided for all baseball and softball players. Team equipment - including balls, bats, helmets, and catcher's gear - is provided. Players must provide their own pants, athletic shoes/cleats (rubber sole only), and glove.
Holiday Conflicts: Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day typically occur during the summer season. Practices scheduled for Memorial Day and Juneteenth may be rescheduled at the Coach/Recreation Center's discretion. Games that would be scheduled for Juneteenth will be played on Friday or Saturday of that week, if necessary. The week of Independence Day is a make-up game / optional practice week.
