Join us in the fitness room at the centrally located Twentieth Street Recreation Center for an Outdoor Skills Clinic where you will learn useful skills for backpacking. Topics include intro to securing a permit, what and how to pack a backpacking pack, the 10 essentials, Leave No Trace, and more. If you have personal gear that you want to learn about, feel free to bring it and Outdoor Recreation staff will do their best to answer your questions. Otherwise, practice equipment provided.CANCELLATIONS: If Outdoor Recreation cancels the trip due to inclement weather, lack of participants, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the participants will receive a full REFUND.
REFUNDS: 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels the registration 15 days in advance, a full REFUND will be given. LESS THAN 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels registration less than 15 days in advance, NO CREDIT OR REFUND will be given.
APPEAL: If a participant experiences a serious illness or loss that prevents their attendance that requires special consideration, an appeal can be submitted to the Coordinator of Outdoor Recreation for review.
