Join Wilson's free Book Club! Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 with Ms. Khalil Join a community of readers in an environment where we provide a safe space where you can share ideas, take risks, and nurture a culture of reading. The defining principles of book clubs are choice and ownership. Students will have autonomy and the power to choose what they read. We will delve into the stories of others while connecting our own lives to what we read. When students journey through texts together, their experience is influenced not only by their own individual thoughts but by the perspectives of others. This has the power to shape students’ reading identities because they learn how to view a text through multiple lenses. In book clubs, students walk together in each other’s shoes. City and Choices students will report to their after school program per usual. Non-City and Non-Choices students will report to the District Site Lead after dismissal who will get the students fed and keep them supervised until Book Club starts. Non-City and Non-Choices students will need to be check out by guardian or approved pick up persons with District Site Lead EVERYDAY club is running. When coming to pick up your child, please report to the cafeteria and you will be directed to the District Site Lead. This is to ensure student safety. Thank you!
