About This Activity
9 sessions x 67 minutes Tuesday - August 27 | Sept 3, 10, 17, 24 | Oct 1, 8, 15 | Nov 5 (No class on October 22) Create your own cartoon characters in this hands-on drawing class! With a focus on character design and development, we’ll create original heroes, villains, sidekicks, and creatures. Students will learn how to draw facial expressions, body poses, and costume designs, then build stories around their creations. In our final sessions, students will create and share their own mini-books, and everyone will take home a signed copy of Mrs. de Oliveira’s latest graphic novel, Reggie: Penguin in Charge. All skill levels are welcome. *Note: Ms. de Oliveira is the author and artist of her own comic book Reggie: Kid Penguin that was published in the spring of 2023 and your child will receive an autographed copy of that book if they enroll in this class. You will have a lot of fun in this course as you learn techniques for drawing.
