Taught by Bill Carmel DUSD Teacher Tell Your Story. Share Your Ideas. Build Your Voice. What do photographers, YouTubers, writers, designers, and artists all have in common? They are publishers. In this hands-on summer studio, students learn how to create short, meaningful posts using images, captions, slides, and video—just like real creators do. By the end of the course, each student builds a mini digital portfolio of original posts they can share with family, teachers, and friends. WHAT STUDENTS WILL CREATE Students explore multiple kinds of modern “micro-blogs”: Photo stories, Short video blogs (vlogs), Slide/carousel mini-essay, Caption writing posts, reflection journals, how-to tutorials, community or interest posts, mini blog series Each student publishes 4–6 original posts during the session.
