About This Activity
Taught by Jasper Tran, Emerald High School teacher with DUSD! Join our Summer Band Camp and make music come alive! This program is designed for students interested in learning or developing their skills on flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and tuba. Students will enjoy playing along to popular movie tunes while building a strong musical foundation in a fun and supportive setting. Who Can Join: 5th–6th grade students with at least 1 year of elementary band experience 7th–12th grade beginners** looking for a fast-paced introduction to a new instruments What Students Will Learn: Instrument fundamentals and proper technique Embouchure development** and tone production Finger dexterity and coordination Music reading skills Scales and exercises in Concert Bb Major, F Major, and Eb Major Through a mix of guided instruction and group practice, students will build confidence and quickly develop essential band skills. Note: Students must bring their own instrument. Whether continuing your musical journey or trying something new, this camp offers a fun and rewarding way to grow as a musician this summer! 🎶✨
