About This Activity
Taught by Jasper Tran, Emerald High School teacher with DUSD! Join our Summer Orchestra Camp and bring music to life! This engaging program is open to students interested in learning or advancing their skills on violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Students will enjoy playing along to popular movie tunes while building a strong musical foundation in a fun and supportive environment. Who Can Join: 5th–6th grade students with at least 1 year of elementary orchestra experience 7th–12th grade beginners looking for an accelerated introduction to a new instrument What Students Will Learn: Instrument basics and proper technique Pizzicato and bowing skills Music reading fundamentals Scales and exercises in D Major, G Major, and C Major Through a combination of guided instruction and group playing, students will quickly build confidence and develop essential orchestra skills. Note: Students are required to bring their own instrument. Whether continuing your musical journey or trying something new, this camp offers a fun and rewarding way to grow as a musician this summer! 🎻✨
