About This Activity

Students learn Lincoln-Douglas Debate, SPAR Debate, and Congressional Debate while strengthening research, argumentation, persuasive writing, and public speaking abilities. Through case-writing workshops, flowing drills, cross-examinations, rebuttal exercises, and instructor-guided feedback, students learn to evaluate evidence, analyze complex topics, and defend their positions with clarity and logic. The course emphasizes tournament preparation, providing opportunities for students to compete, receive feedback from experienced judges, and refine their debate strategies.
