10 sessions x 1 Hour Thursday - Aug 28 | Sept 4, 11, 18, 25 | Oct 2, 9, 23 | Nov 6, 13 In this engaging and supportive program, young students will build strong reading comprehension and writing skills by exploring the power of descriptive language. Each session focuses on using the five senses and vivid vocabulary to help students better understand what they read and bring their own writing to life. With age-appropriate mentor texts, writing journals, and fun hands-on activities like verb charades, sensory stations, and draw-and-write prompts, students will learn how to describe characters, settings, and actions in a clear and creative way. They’ll also strengthen their listening and speaking skills by sharing ideas, acting out scenes, and discussing stories as a group. The program concludes with a special celebration where students share their work with peers and reflect on their growth as writers in a supportive and engaging environment.
