Instructor: Ms. Jennifer Moirao, Amador Teacher Day: Tuesday Dates: Sept. 8, 15, 22, 29 | Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27 | Nov. 3, 10 Writing is one of the main forms of communication, yet it’s also one of the most dreaded subjects for students to learn. Through this session of writing, students will learn how to communicate more effectively with the written word. We will introduce narrative writing this fall and the course will include, how to tell a story and build suspense, telling stories from different points of view, and the use of figurative language. We will also focus on the technical parts of writing such as sentence form and grammar. This course will change focus and emphasis from session to session and year to year so students will always learn new writing skills. Participants will: 1. Engage in learning activities that builds student confidence with writing skills 2. Develop strong grammatical skills 3. Utilize technology to self-publish their works 4. Equip students with the tools to organize to organize their ideas 5. Enhance student ability to edit thier own work.
