Whether you're a beginner just finding your balance or an advanced skater looking to refine your skills, this camp is designed for all levels to explore the mechanics of movement while having a blast on wheels. Why Join? Discover a New Way to Explore the Outdoors – Learn how skating is not only a fun activity but also an eco-friendly mode of travel powered entirely by YOU! STEAM-Powered Skating – Enhance your skills with a deeper understanding of physics, motion, and engineering. How does friction affect your glide? How does balance impact movement? Through hands-on learning, you'll unlock the secrets of skating mechanics! Creative Engineering & Art Projects – In addition to mastering skating techniques, students will complete two take-home, engineering-inspired craft projects that bring science and art together. Possible projects include: LED Jewelry – Light up your accessories with simple circuits. Personalized Lava Lamp – Learn about density and viscosity in a fun, take-home experiment. Magic Sk8 Ball – A playful fortune-telling device with a STEAM twist. Spin Art T-Shirt – Create wearable art using rotational motion. Lazy Susan Organizer – Construct your own functional storage piece using skate spinners. (Projects may vary.) What to Bring: Inline skates (roller skates are OK) Helmet Plastic wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads Water bottle & snack Materials Fee: $20 included in the Tuition This camp combines movement, physics, engineering, and creativity into one unforgettable experience.
