About This Activity

Wednesday - Nov 18 | Dec 2, 9, 16 | Jan 6, 13, 20, 27 | Feb 3, 10 10 Sessions x 90 Minutes Calling all young innovators, creative coders, and future engineers! Bring code to life with the Micro:bit—a pocket-sized computer packed with lights, buttons, sensors, radio communication, and endless possibilities! In this hands-on course, students use Microsoft MakeCode to create interactive games, smart gadgets, alarms, wearable technology, and electronic inventions. They learn essential coding concepts while exploring how technology responds to movement, light, temperature, sound, buttons, and touch. Each class presents an exciting new challenge. Students code, build, test, troubleshoot, and customize their creations. They’ll also connect LEDs, NeoPixels, motors, and buzzers to transform their code into fully interactive inventions. No previous coding or electronics experience is needed—just curiosity and a desire to create! Our Roadmap: * Meet the Micro – Program messages, icons, and animations. * Buttons & Interactivity – Control programs using buttons and touch. * Game Design – Create interactive games with scores and challenges. * Sound & Music – Program melodies, sound effects, and alarms. * Smart Sensors – Experiment with light, temperature, sound, and direction. * Motion Technology – Build step counters, wearables, and motion-controlled projects. * Wireless Communication – Send messages and alerts between Micro. * Smart Electronics – Program LEDs, NeoPixels, motors, and buzzers. * Smart Device Challenge – Combine coding, sensors, and electronics to build an original invention.
