This is a 6-week support group, and the $30 fee covers all sessions and program materials. Siblings of children with special needs often have unique experiences, questions, and perspectives. Sibshops at Spectrum provide a supportive and engaging space created just for them. Designed for children ages 7–12, this program brings siblings together to connect with others who understand what it’s like to have a brother or sister with special needs. Through group discussions, arts and crafts, and interactive games, participants will share experiences, build friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of their sibling’s world in a positive and welcoming environment. Sibshops follow the nationally recognized curriculum developed by Don Meyer, specifically designed to support siblings of children with special needs. This program is also supported by Spectrum’s Youth Advisory Council and will be led by an adult sibling, helping ensure an authentic, relatable, and comfortable experience for participants. Sibshops are high-energy and engaging, giving kids the opportunity to have fun, laugh, and talk openly about both the joys and challenges of having a sibling with special needs—all while feeling understood and supported.
