About This Activity

Adventure Club after school program for children in grades K-5 combines outdoor education and supervised free nature play. We blend skills, time in nature, and positive social interactions. Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs from 2:10-5:30 pm on days when school is in session. Tuition is automatic payment at beginning of each month (1 day $45, 2 day $40, or 3 or 4 day $35 per day). We need a full year commitment! A $100 non-refundable deposit and school year supply fee will reserve your spot(s). THE MAJORITY OF THE PROGRAM TIME WILL BE SPENT OUTDOORS. High quality clothing/footwear for playing outdoors in all weather conditions is required. Adventurers meet after school at 210 at the Lowell School Courtyard Rear entrance dressed to be outside. Parent pickup at 515-530 is in back parking lot at Lowell. We provide booster seats and van transport from Lowell to PEO base on Fredenberg Lake or local parks for planned activities. Each day also includes unstructured free play. Weekly themes connect activities ranging from Voyageur Canoe, hikes, camping skills, fishing, rock climbing, dogsledding, snowshoeing, sledding, skating, fishing, draft horse wagon/sleigh rides, to indoor foul weather options like art, science, reading/story, games, archery, swimming, climbing and more. CHILDREN will PLAY OUTDOORS FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE PROGRAM TIME EACH DAY. The correct clothing and spare socks, bread bags, a change of underclothes will help play happen successfully in hot, cold, wet, rainy, windy, snowy and muddy conditions unless severe conditions require indoor play. Positive Energy Outdoors professional outdoor education staff run Adventure Club activities and only meet at Lowell. It is not an ISD 709 program. A revised 2024 Family Handbook with details about what children need to bring and wear, as well as more details about program behavior expectations and policies will be e-mailed to all enrolled families in May.
