About This Activity
Art Foundations gives young artists (ages 11-14) the opportunity to explore a variety of art materials, techniques, and processes. Campers will learn the elements and principles of art while experimenting with different forms of artmaking through hands-on projects and activities. Campers will also be introduced to practices artists use to develop and talk about their work, including critique, reflection, artist statements, and exhibiting their artwork. The program encourages students to try new things, build their skills and confidence, and create a foundation they can carry into future art classes and creative pursuits. There is an additional supply fee of $75 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program. The fee is included in your registration fee. The instructor has selected specific materials and supplies necessary for this class. A kit will be ordered for you following your registration, and will be waiting for you when you arrive at IMC. The art kit is yours to keep after camp ends.
