The International Music Camp School of Dance offers three dance streams: Ballet/Modern, Jazz/Tap/Theatre Dance, and Hip Hop Intensive. These unique and physically intensive programs offer campers an opportunity to work with other dancers and professional instructors from across the United States and Canada in one or two week experiences. All of our Dance Programs are for dancers ages 12-19. Ballet/Modern and Jazz/Tap/Theatre Dance require 2 years of dance class experience and no prior experience is required for the Hip Hop Intensive session. Hip Hop Intensive occurs during Session 2, and Ballet/Modern and Jazz/Tap/Theatre Dance happen Sessions 4 and 5. In addition to a minimum of two technique classes each day, all dancers spend time rehearsing for our Saturday performance and participating in a variety of supplemental activities. Past activities have included Pilates, Yoga, genre specific student choreography projects, musicianship for dancers, and viewing films of current and famous dancers and choreographers as well as instruction on the application of stage make-up, terminology, and dance history. Pointe is also included in Ballet/Modern for students already working on pointe.
