About This Activity
This program is a combination of the Orchestra & Fiddle program. The Fiddle program will provide instruction for intermediate and advanced players with a focus on various fiddling styles. Master classes will expose the fiddler to fiddle techniques and new tunes. Fundamentals classes will help improve reading skills while developing a greater understanding of rhythm and listening techniques. The International Music Camp offers three levels of Orchestra for all ages of string players: Cadet String Orchestra for younger players, Concert Orchestra for middle school string students, and Symphony Orchestra for high school students. Advanced string players of all ages may also audition for the Chamber (honor) Orchestra. The session includes two daily large-group rehearsals, sectionals, theory classes, master classes, chamber ensemble opportunities, and optional private lessons. Violinists who have completed grades 6 through 12 may participate in Orchestra & Fiddle.
