About This Activity

A wildly imaginative adventure where courage grows, friendships form, and nothing stays small for long. James and the Giant Peach is a joyful, offbeat musical bursting with humor, heart, and theatrical invention. When an ordinary boy finds himself inside a giant peach hurtling across the ocean, the journey becomes as transformative as it is absurd. Packed with larger-than-life characters, inventive ensemble storytelling, and endless ensemble opportunities, this musical invites young artists to think boldly and play fearlessly. From singing insects to wickedly fun villains, James and the Giant Peach celebrates resilience, collaboration, and the magic that happens when imagination takes the lead. James and the Giant Peach, Jr. is a Workshop camp. Workshop Camps emphasize the creative process. Campers focus on developing foundational acting, singing, and dancing skills while exploring how to collaborate as an ensemble. The final informal presentation allows students to showcase what they’ve learned without the added layer of technical elements like props or costumes. This approach encourages young artists to focus on their craft, imagination, and teamwork rather than production details. Workshop Camps end in an informal presentations that focus on the creative process. The emphasis is on showcasing skills, storytelling, and collaboration. A Jr. title means the final presentation is approximately 1-hour long. Vault Theatre also offers Production based camps (Cinderella and Elf) that offers an introduction to technical theatre alongside performance giving students a broader perspective on how a show is made. Production camps end in an enhanced presentation that incorporate simple costumes, props, and other creative elements made during camp. Both Workshop and Production camps prioritize the joy of learning and collaboration, but they provide different experiences:We offer both options to cater to diverse interests, ensuring that all campers can explore their artis
