About This Activity

Vault Theatre Presents: The Wizard of Oz, Young Performer's Edition Follow the Yellow Brick Road in this magical musical adventure! The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition brings the timeless story of Dorothy, Toto, and their friends to life with beloved songs like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard.” Join Dorothy as she journeys through the Land of Oz, meeting the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion in search of the Wizard who can help her get home. Filled with heart, friendship, and unforgettable characters, this is the perfect show for young performers ready to bring the Land of Oz to life! The Wizard of Oz is Production Camp. Production Camps: In addition to acting, singing, and dance, these camps include a stagecrafts class where campers help create simple costume elements and props. The final presentation incorporates these elements, giving a glimpse into the process of putting together a full production. While still focused on learning and creativity, this format introduces students to some technical aspects of theatre in addition to performance. Production Camps end in an enhanced presentation that incorporates simple costumes, props, and other creative elements made during camp. These presentations provide campers with an opportunity to share their work in a format that combines performance and a sample of design elements. A Young Performer’s title means the final presentation is approximately an hour long. Vault Theatre also offers Workshop Camps (Moana, Jungle Book, and Frozen) that offers camps with an emphasis on the creative process. Campers focus on developing foundational acting, singing, and dancing skills while exploring how to collaborate as an ensemble. These presentations feature little to no sets, props, or costumes with campers wearing a Vault Theatre t-shirt. Both Workshop and Production camps prioritize the joy of learning and collaboration, but they provide different experiences: We offer both options to cater to diverse
