In this interactive class, students will learn how to create a cohesive piece of devised theatre. Devised theatre is a form of theatre-making that is truly collaborative. Students work as an ensemble to explore a concept, theme, or question that is relevant to them and their lives. In its initial stages, this exploration may include poetry, journaling, song writing, monologues, short scenes, choreography, or movement pieces. Through this creative process, the students will work to create a cohesive theatre piece that incorporates their artistic exploration of a chosen topic. The class will conclude with a performance of the students’ devised show.
