Cold Weather Fighting Carbine was designed to allow students to test their gear and skills in cold weather. Using your firearms while dressed in thick garments or multiple layers and gloves can be challenging. This is your time to practice with them. We will run a series of drills to test your gear and skills. The prerequisite for this course is a intermediate carbine/rifle course. Topics covered will include: Rifle/carbine Ready Positions, Dynamic Standing Shooting Stance, Kneeling Position, Reloads, Malfunction ClearanceTechniques, Barricade shooting, Multiple Target Engagements, and Movement. All these skills will be used while conducting a series of drills. Targets will carry in distance from 3 yards to 200 yards. Required Gear: - Semi-automatic or Lever Action Rifle with Sling - 4 magazines that hold a minimum of 10 rounds. lever guns excluded. - Ammo carrier for magazines or individual rounds for lever guns. - 300 rds ammunition. see note below. - Training tournaquit - Clothing and footwear appropriate for weather. - Eye Protection - Ear protection - electronic is preferred but not required. - Liquids for hydration - Gloves you can shoot with while wearing. Option Gear: - Red dot type optic. Magnification is helpful but not mandatory. - Chair for breaks - Suppressor for rifle. - Lunch - Rifle Maintenance Gear Ammunition: Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time.
