Pistol Skills - Moving Target Engagements Overview: The MTE Pistol course is designed to enhance shooting accuracy and speed when engaging targets in motion. Participants learn techniques for tracking and anticipating moving targets, improving reflexes, and mastering the proper timing to land successful shots. Since most gunfights involve movement from you and your adversary. MTE will incorporate a varying speed later moving target and advancing moving target which will be engaged from different distance. Visual barriers will be in place to force students to termite engagements and relocate to reengage. Shooting while moving will be implemented at the end of the training Day. A steel target will be used at extended distance to gain immediate feed back.This class will enhance your ability to survive a fight in a moving, dynamic environment. Required Gear: - Handgun (No micro guns. Smallest acceptable size G43X/P365) - Holster - See note below - 4 Magazines or speed loaders - Magazine pouches for at least 2 magazines. - Ear protection - electronic preferred. - Eye protection. - Note taking material. - A positive attitude. - Closed toe shoes - We will be on a grass outdoor range that might be wet. - Clothing appropriate for the weather. - Spare Batteries for optic if you have one on your pistol. Optional Equipment: - Chair for breaks - Water - Firearms Lubricant Ammunition requirement: 350 rounds - more if you like to shoot. Lead core ammunition to be used on steel. No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time. Holster Requirements: Dominant side, hip or belt-mounted holster, Appendix IWB. Holster Requirements: Must completely support the pistol. Must not collapse once drawn. Must fit properly to the belt. When holstered, the trigger guard must be completely covered when holstered. Ammo available with prior notice.
