About This Activity
Walt Disney knew that at the heart of every animated film is a well-told story. This class will teach you the basics of narrative structure, establishing interesting and dynamic plots, and creating internal and external challenges that can impact a character’s journey. Students will then take on the role of a storyboard artist as they envision their own story through illustrations that include camera angles, camera shots, and timing. This class has a focus on both illustrative and written forms of storytelling. Students are expected to learn and balance both aspects as they create their own storyboards to share.
