What does it mean to be strong? In Workouts with Wes, students will explore strength through movement, play, teamwork, and positive self-talk. Each week, children will learn body-weight movements such as squatting, balancing, jumping, crawling, pushing, or lunging and connect those movements with character strengths such as courage, perseverance, confidence, focus, resilience, and teamwork. Classes include movement games, age-appropriate physical challenges, cooperative activities, and positive affirmations. The focus is on personal growth and learning how to move safely rather than competition or athletic ability. Best of all, the program requires almost no equipment. Students will learn exercises and games they can use at home, at school, at the park, or almost anywhere. Strong Bodies, Strong Minds — Movement Anywhere, Anytime.
