About This Activity

Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

Bring your little one to the center to learn ground-based and traversing skills that prepare them for rock climbing as they get older. Play games, build strength, gain agility, and have fun! This class does not include rope climbing up the wall; children use low-level handholds as they traverse along the base of the wall. Info: Matt Medicus, 410-313-1769 or mmedicus@howardcountymd.gov.
Minimal swimming ability required – we do not intentionally capsize the boats but canoes & kayaks can and do flip over. Life jackets are provided and required during the program.
Fees are per person. Canoes are two-person boats; kayaks are either single or double (under 16 must be in a boat with a parent).
Detailed info will be emailed about a week prior to the program start. No experience necessary and all equipment provided for use during the program; paddlers may bring their own boat and/or life jacket pending approval by instructor. If planning to bring your own boat, please contact us for details before registering. For more information contact Matt Medicus, 410-313-1769 or mmedicus@howardcountymd.gov.
This program does NOT meet the Paddling Basics requirement for HCRP Float trips. Prior completion of an HCRP Paddling Basics class is not required, but you must be able to independently paddle a canoe or kayak to participate. Canoes are two or three person boats and kayaks are single or double – registration is per person; you can choose which boat when you arrive at the program.
Consult only this program status line within one hour of the program start time: 410-313-4451, press option 1 THEN option 4.
