This fishing class for beginners focuses on freshwater fishing including rigging a pole, casting, fish identification, knot tying, and much more. Gain the experience you need to fish on your own. No experience necessary and all equipment and bait are provided for use during the program. This class is a great way to spend quality family time together while learning a new lifelong outdoor skill. Have your own equipment but not really sure what to do with it? Bring it to class and learn to rig your line and cast independently. Fee is for one parent and one child.Family of three or more? These class dates don’t work for you? A Friends & Family Adventure is another great way to learn to fish on your schedule! Contact Matt Medicus for details or visit www.tinyurl.com/adventurepackages.

Detailed info will be sent to the email of the participant – Check your registration to be sure you get it! This program runs for two consecutive weeks. Fee is for one parent and one child; in the case of siblings, we ask that a parent/guardian be present with EACH child (registration is per child) and that the SAME parent/guardian attend both weeks.
All equipment and bait is provided for use during the program – feel free to bring your own rod and tackle subject to approval of the instructor (no fly rods).
PARENTS: Maryland law requires anyone age 16 or older to have a Maryland Fishing License. This license must be on the individual anytime the individual is fishing. We encourage adults to purchase a license before attending (freshwater, non-tidal fishing license is currently $32/year for MD residents). Licenses are available at many regional sporting goods retailers, or online from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at: https://compass.dnr.maryland.gov/dnrcompassportal. There are options for 7- or 3-day licenses as well.
