Enjoy a guided 6-mile morning hike in the Patapsco Valley! Finish your hike in downtown Ellicott City, where you can grab your lunch and explore this historic town on your own after the hike. Van shuttle service is provided from the Courthouse meet up location to the trailhead. Hike conveniently ends within walking distance of meet up location. Directions and details provided in the program letter, sent by email about a week prior to the program.Moderate terrain; 6 miles.

The HCRP Trail Hike program features many historic sights and panoramic views. This trip is separate from the Appalachian Trail and Catoctin Trail Series; ask your hike leader for information about those series and the completion patches.
Trip leaders interpret points of interest and keep a moderate pace. Participants should be in good shape, have good balance and depth perception to be able to hike two miles over rocky hills without a break and the ability to complete the distance indicated.
HCRP staff will meet the group at checkin at 8am in the lot by the old courthouse above historic Ellicott City. Transportation will be provided from the check in spot by HCRP 15-passenger van for a short drive to the start of the hike.
Under 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian who is also registered for the Trail Hike.
Detailed information is emailed to participants in the week prior to the hike date. Closed-toed shoes required for all participants at all times. All participants should check the program status line after 8:30am the day of the Trail Hike, regardless of current conditions (410-313-4451, press option 1 THEN option 3). Actual hike time may vary depending on the speed of the group.
If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a Trail Hike you are registered for, please notify us (email preferred) as soon as possible prior to the hike date. All participants must be pre-registered and on the roster for the hike. While it is possible to switch registrations prior to the hike date, we cannot accept switches or Wait Listed participants on the morning of the trip.
