Students will audition, rehearse, design costumes and set, and present a play in a week! On Friday, students will perform 15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play for family and friends. 15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play by Alan Haehnel is a comedic play where characters ironically present humorous and absurd reasons why no one should ever participate in a theatrical production, despite being in one themselves. The “reasons” range from missing important phone calls, getting stage fright, or having to hold hands with someone with warts. It’s a meta-comedy that uses a series of monologues, duets, and ensemble scenes to satirize the struggles and absurdities of putting on a play.
