About This Activity
Description
The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course prepares youth ages 11-16 to care for children and infants safely and confidently. It includes hands-on activities videos and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills.
The course covers feeding diapering picking up and holding children safety and emergency response.
We want to prepare participants well for emergencies but CPR can be physically demanding and participants should ideally weigh at least 85-90 pounds to participate in this portion of the course.
Successful completion awards a 10-year Babysitter’s Training certificate and a 2-year Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate.
**** This course is presented as a "blended learning" course. There will be a portion that will be required to be completed online before class starts. This class will open up 2 weeks ahead of time so that candidates should have enough time to complete the online portion of the course.
If you have any issues with the online portion of the course, please reach out to Ryan Kennedy at rkennedy@eprdco.gov ****
