About This Activity
Description
Enjoy a relaxing guided sunrise kayak paddle led by ACA certified paddling instructor and NOVA Parks Roving Naturalist, Matt Felperin. Calm morning waters should make this an easy paddle, and we hope to see lots of wildlife along the way! Expect to see Great Blue Herons, Osprey, and Bald Eagles. We will begin with a brief paddling instruction overview before heading out. Previous kayak experience suggested, but not required.
Be sure to bring plenty of water and appropriate clothing; quick dry material is recommended along with close-toed sandals. Hats and sunscreen should be worn as well. Dry bags are recommended for personal items. Program includes experienced guide, kayak rental, paddle, and PFD.
Unpredictable weather conditions are to be expected. Guides will assess the weather at the time of the tour. If it is unsafe, the trip will be rescheduled or cancelled. In the event of cancellation a full refund will be given. Children under 16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. $35, Ages 12+

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
As with any exercise it is not advisable to eat a heavy meal just prior to attending your paddle tour. Canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding involves constant movement. Instructor(s) will lead warm-up activities at the beginning of the event to engage the body for the activity; this may be conducted on the water pending the activity.
WHAT TO BRING:
All participants must bring a water bottle.
Sun protection (if applicable) such as sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and lightweight, long sleeve shirt.
Appropriate water clothing - fibers like nylon, silk, synthetic and wool retain insulation properties even when they are wet and therefore, keep the body warmer.
Recommended footwear can be water shoes, strapped sandals, or any comfortable shoe that can get wet.
Change of clothes, shoes and towel for after the tour can be left in the car.
WHAT NOT TO BRING:
Any items you do not want to get wet or loose items that may become disengaged while in the water. (cell phone, cameras, etc.)
