Music Composition CampJuly 20 - 24, 20269:00 - 4:00 pm
Ages 14 - 18
In the Music Composition Camp, campers will learn to compose and expand original instrumental music. Counselors will lead the campers through a variety of hands-on activities, presented lessons, and one-on-one mentoring during composition time. Daily show and tell provides a chance for the campers to get feedback from their peers and camp counselors. At the end of the week, each camper will share their work at the composer’s showcase for their family and peers.
What you should know to take this workshop: Basic understanding of treble and bass clef, experience playing an instrument, and a basic understanding of music theory (scales, key signatures, time signatures). Participants are encouraged to bring in pieces they are currently working on, although it is not required. Students are asked to bring their own wired headphones to camp each day.
Online registration closes 3 business days before the first class. Registrations processed after the close date will incur a $10 late fee.
