The Precipice Theater Team'sand Mason Community Arts Academy'sDevised Theatre EnsembleFor Ages 11-16Fall 2025/Spring 2026
Seeking adventurous theatre-makers! Unleash your creativity and share your voice in an entirely original, and personalized artistic endeavor featuring writing, acting, movement, and visual art.
Through this new, year-long program, The Precipice Theatre Team will expertly guide students through their internationally-celebrated devising process to create an autobiographical, ensemble-driven performance. Devised theatre is created by the students and considers significant questions that are crucial to the participants and their communities. Students work in a uniquely collaborative environment as they build friendships and create a fully-realized performance piece.
Ideal for actors, movers, and writers in middle and high school, this program will culminate in several performances, including the world-premiere presentation at the 2026 Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts Festival as well as a performance during the Precipice Theater Team’s devised theater festival in May 2026.

REHEARSALS

Location: This program meets at two locations in Fairfax throughout the year. Schedule will be provided post-registration.

Online registration closes 2 business days before the first class at noon, however space may still be available! Please contact to check at showcase@afyp.org or call 703-993-9889. A $10 late registration fee may apply.
Cost includes all rehearsals and performances, and a T-shirt. Payment plans are available.
Registrations include a non-refundable $50 registration fee. Withdrawal requests made at least one week prior to program start date receive a full refund, less the non-refundable fee. Requests made 6 or less days before the first day of class and up to 6 days after the first class receive a 50% refund, less the non-refundable fee. Requests made on the day of, or after the second class will be non-refundable.
