Red Cross Babysitters Training Course
Prepare to care for children and infants with confidence and skill through our in-person Babysitters Training Course. Designed for youth ages 11–16, this course offers hands-on instruction from best-in-class Red Cross instructors. You will gain the latest insights on childcare, learn essential safety techniques, and develop real-life readiness through engaging activities, videos, and discussions.
Our course is built around the core skills every babysitter should have, helping you meet the expectations of today’s families. Key topics include:
- Basic care for infants and children
- Feeding, diapering, and safely picking up children
- Basic first aid and emergency response
- Child behavior management
- Age-appropriate activities and play

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: A full refund will be issued when a program is cancelled by the Recreation Department. Cancellations made after registering and prior to the start date of an activity will have a $5.00 administrative charge deducted from your refund. Refunds or credits will not be issued if you cancel out of an activity less than five working days from the activity start date. No refunds will be given once a class or program has started. Please note that online convenience fees are non-refundable.
