About This Activity
First Reconciliation and Eucharist are typically celebrated in 2nd grade, but children in grades 3-5 are welcome. Preparation involves a home-study program beginning in January in which parents instruct their child using a provided textbook. Students and parents are also required to attend two in-person sessions for each sacrament. Preparation for the sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist begin with faith formation classes in 1st Grade. Attendance at weekly Mass is integral to the child's preparation for 1st Eucharist. IN ADDITION TO PREPARATION CLASSES, THE CHILD MUST ATTEND EITHER SUNDAY FAITH FORMATION CLASS, FAMILY HOME MINISTRY OR CATHOLIC SCHOOL.
