First Reconciliation and Eucharist are typically celebrated in 2nd grade, but children in Grades 3 & 4 are welcome. Prerequisite: Students must attend 1 year of Faith Formation before entering their preparation year. Preparation involves a home-study program beginning in January in which parents instruct their child using a provided textbook. Students and parents are also required to attend 2 in-person instructional sessions for each sacrament (dates to be announced). Preparation for the sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and First Eucharist begins with faith formation classes in 1st Grade (required) and continue into 2nd Grade. Attendance at weekly Mass is integral to the child's preparation for First Eucharist. IN ADDITION TO SIGNING UP FOR PREPARATION CLASSES, THE CHILD MUST ALSO REGISTER FOR EITHER A GRADE-LEVEL SUNDAY FAITH FORMATION CLASS, FAMILY HOME MINISTRY AT GRADE LEVEL, OR BE ATTENDING A CATHOLIC SCHOOL. Verification will be required. Families will be asked to register with the parish (if not already members) upon enrolling their child(ren).
