About This Activity

Level: Beginner to Intermediate Sewists Duration: 5 Weeks Session Length: 1.5‑Hour, Self‑Paced Weekly Session Our Kids/Teen Beginning Sewing Classes use the Sewciety Kids Sewing Program, a comprehensive curriculum designed for children ages 8 and up. At Sewing and Fitting Mentor, students attend short, engaging 1½‑hour weekly sessions over a 6‑week period. Classes are self‑paced, allowing each child to learn comfortably at their own speed. Students of all ages and skill levels share the classroom, creating a fun, collaborative environment where they learn not only from the instructor but also from one another. What Students Learn Our program is built around steady skill‑building. Children begin with simple projects and gradually take on new techniques as they grow. Over time, they’ll explore a wide range of sewing skills, including: Quilting Garment construction Accessories Embroidery Appliqué With our four‑year rotating curriculum, students never repeat a project. Each session introduces fresh skills, new techniques, and exciting creative challenges. Project Supply Fees 1st‑Year Students: There is an additional $50 supply fee for each 5‑week session to cover all project materials. This fee is automatically added during registration. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th‑Year Students: Families may choose to purchase their own project supplies.
