About This Activity

Kids Aikido Program-black belt instructor-Aaron Goertzen Benefits of Aikido • Focus, calm, and coordination • Practical self-defense skills • Self-esteem and confidence • Physical and emotional resilience • Conflict resolution and leadership skills • Making friends and having fun! Core Philosophy: Non-violent and non-competitive, emphasizing harmony, coordination, and neutralizing aggression rather than striking. We always try to resolve conflicts without violence. We train to make ourselves healthier and stronger. This way, you will minimize the amount of fights you get in by living a positive life. But, if someone ever does attack you physically, your Aikido training will prepare you. Curriculum will be based on basic Aikido techniques such as learning how to roll, take break-falls safely, perform basic hand and footwork, integration of atemi’s, ki, grounding oneself mentally and physically and many other facets of Aikido. Weapons are part of Aikido and will be used at a later date.
