Teaching Artists: Jessica Borbone and Tara GoodmanClass Dates: Saturdays from September 6 - November 8Rain Date: Saturday, November 15Students take their musical theater skills to the next level in this exciting, team-taught class led by a professional music director and choreographer. Perfect for students who are ready to build on what they've learned in Intro to Musical Theater, this class helps young performers master singing, dancing and acting within the context of a Broadway scene. Through engaging vocal warm-ups, choreography sequences and character-building exercises, students develop strong, healthy singing voices, sharpen their dance technique and hone their acting skills. By combining all three elements, students gain the confidence and technical ability needed to shine, creating a powerful stage presence in every performance. Family and friends are invited to an open class at the end of the semester. Two sessions of this class are recommended.
This class may be taken more than once to develop existing talents and discover new abilities through skills-building activities, theater games and learning material from Broadway repertoire. Two semesters of Intro to Musical Theater (or similar class) are recommended as a prerequisite for this class.
Children must be ready to participate in the class independently. Parents are invited into the classroom for a brief 5-minute orientation on the first day of class.
