Fun, Fitness, Fundamental Level: The fundamental levels develop the movement patterns that must be mastered to successfully perform all future gymnastics skills, regardless of their level of complexity. ‘Skills’ in these four Badges are grouped into one of the six gymnastics FMPs of Landings, Locomotions, Stationary Positions, Rotations, Springs and Swings. Landings Locomotions Stationary Positions Rotations Springs Swings At this level, skills are designed to be taught to mixed gender groups on a wide variety of non-competitive (benches, boxes, trapezoids, wall bars, donuts, mats, etc.) and competitive gymnastics apparatus modified ‘for kids’. Each skill must be taught on many different apparatus to make sure the FMPs are well-mastered. Physically fit participants aged 6 and up should be able to complete these levels in four-five sessions (based on a 14 week session and a 1-hour class per week).
